Project
We fell in love with the Périgord, its landscapes, its heritage and its quality of welcome. Our love for this territory and our desire for change led us to settle in an old farm with the aim of giving it new life.
After a year of work and planting, we were happy to welcome our first travelers in the fall of 2021.
The ADOREI gîte was the farmers' home at the beginning of the 19th century. The old stable where we live, the old wooden tobacco drying shed, and the stone sheepfold in the inner courtyard bear witness to the original agropastoral activity.
We live on the estate and are currently developing an agritourism project with the diversified production of fruits and vegetables. The orchard of 200 fruit trees and shrubs that we planted upon our arrival was developed on the principles of syntropic agriculture, which is still experimental in France. This is an agroforestry cultivation practice that is close to the functioning of natural ecosystems. We have welcomed a few beehives, chickens and ducks, friends of the vegetable garden.
Beyond the promotion of eco-friendly actions and local consumption, advice on activities and visits nearby, we can introduce you to permaculture and agroforestry practiced on the estate. We are happy to share our values and our respect for the environment with our travelers. We listen to your expectations to best organize your stay.
